Who am I?

Deborah Forster lives in Melbourne and has written two novels. The first, ‘The Book of Emmett’, was a finalist for the Miles Franklin Literary Award and the Prime Minister’s Award for Literature in 2010. ‘Emmett’ won the Nita B Kibble Literary Award for Women Writers that year. The second book ‘The Meaning of Grace’ won the most popular award for a novel in West Australia in 2014. Both were published by Random House.

She also wrote a book with Sarah Moore about the Victorian cult, The Family called ‘Unseen, Unheard, Unknown’, published by Penguin.

Deborah was a journalist for 30 years. She was an arts reporter for The Age and wrote the This Life column for the Sunday Age for six years. Before that she was a feature writer at The Australian, The Australian Women’s Weekly, The Age and the Exeter Express and Echo in the UK.
